The project is investigating the phenomena of Turkish
Coffee Houses. These are men only café like places where -usually-
unemployed men of 20-65 gather in the morning and leave around 5pm.
People from diverse backgrounds talk about daily politics, play card
games and watch the news and soccer on TV. While living outside the
temporal regime of the society provides a lot of freedom to their lives,
they do not feel like they have to catch up with any other necessities
nor they feel to contribute to the everyday of the city life.
They refuse
to accept the things that the city life naturally orders on its inhabitants:
9 to 5 jobs, fear from strangers, ignorance, alienation etc.…
